GlamKin, Is It A Bib Or A Napkin?

What is the first image that comes to mind when you think of a bib? First, a product for a baby. Second, something either buttoned, snapped, tied or Velcroed snug around the neck. Cutting off any view of clothing or jewelry underneath. Right? Can you picture it? 

Good, because I am about to blow your mind!

But wait, before any mind-blowing takes place, I want to get you thinking again. What do you see in your mind's eye when you think of a napkin? A flat piece of cloth that lays either on your lap or next to your plate. Over time people have taken these items that were meant to wipe spills from their chins and have forced them into places they were never designed.

A napkin is supposed to protect the lap from liquid, that when paired up with gravity, is believed to only go in one direction, down. I am here to tell you something you already know, food has a mind of its own! It goes wherever it wants to go. I wish I had a better understanding of physics to calculate where and when a certain substance will fly horizontally and every which way, but at my age, there was no time to go back to college to figure this out. 

So I did the next best thing- I turned the table napkin on its head and invented a cutting-edge product that you will not find anywhere but on my website www.GlamKins.com.

I felt so strongly about this design that I paid an enormous amount of money to obtain a patent. I know the product works because I have been using my prototypes for the past 4 years in the real world and can tell you it has saved me hundreds of dollars in dry cleaning and clothing replacement. 

This is an actual occurrence. My fork recoiled after cutting through a thick piece of meat sending the sauce flying at me. My GlamKin saved a $100 knitted top!!

Being the diva that I am, it was important for me to design it in a way that would not be embarrassing -like a bib- because bibs are for babies, right? We already know this. I made sure the silhouette was similar to a blouse with a V-neck front, BUT the real magic takes place in the back...

At the end of the straps are hidden weights that, when in place squarely positioned on the shoulders, will hold the front panel in place. You will not feel the weight of the product nor the weight in the straps. They are only heavy enough to hold the lightweight front panel stable while you enjoy your meal.

I designed them with top-quality rhinestone trims to enhance the wearing experience and made them double-sided for versatility. But most importantly I made them easy to use and care for. This product is completely machine washable. No additional attention is needed for the weighted portion of the garment and will not affect your other laundry. 

When wearing GlamKins and ManKins (YES I make them for men too!) your aesthetic will be enhanced. The GlamKin will look like part of your outfit and the ManKin will look like a vest. Jewelry and neckties will continue to be visible above the V-neck design. As opposed to a lap napkin stuffed in a blouse or dress or even worse, inside an already tight collar. 

In my personal opinion, and in the opinion of my already existing customers, this is the most important fashion accessory that people should own! Just think about the amount of money you will save on cleaning and replacing your favorite tops, blouses, shirts, jackets, dresses, and suits.

 Most people are drawn to sparkly things, I know I am!  And every time I wear this item I get compliments, inquiries as to where to get one, and accolades on the idea. If I had a dollar for every time someone said I should apply to Shark Tank I would already be a thousandaire! BTW, I have applied...

If you are thinking "There is no way I will be caught dead wearing a bib in public" I am here to tell you unequivocally that this product will only draw positive attention and inquiry. If you knew me, you would know that I would never wear something in public that would draw negative attention or ridicule. I have always been too self-conscious about my appearance. That's why I designed them to be beautifully appealing. And if the "glam" is too much  (I get it, we are not all divas but still want the protection) they can be customized to be less attention-getting.

So is it a bib or a napkin?

You can draw your conclusion based on upbringing, past experience, and lifestyle. All I am asking is that you open your mind up to the fact that I invented and produced something that did not previously exist and therefore make room for the possibility that it is a viable and beautiful solution to a chronic issue.
